Rather than go crazy trying to follow the latest fad diet, we try to eat mostly real food (i.e. unprocessed, unadulterated, as close to its original form as possible). Our meals are usually delicious, always different (no daily chicken and brown rice dinners here), and generally pretty healthy… even the ice cream! And because I have kids too, I understand the time component – with few exceptions, these can be put together without needing to find any weird ingredients or spending all day in the kitchen.
