Yesterday was a big day in the Wright household. Can you believe that our little girl arrived a year ago? Neither can we. Crazy how time flies.
Well, whether we can believe it or not, E is now one year old. She’s gone from a content, sleeping baby (thank goodness, after C) to a mostly content, still-pretty-good-sleeper, always-on-the-go pre-toddler with a voracious appetite who loves to antagonize her brother.
She’s been crawling, pulling herself up onto furniture, “talking” like crazy, eating like crazy, and will probably try to start walking at some point in the nearish future.
He’s been sneaking around getting into things he shouldn’t, defying authority, questioning everything (which sometimes makes me question things) and generally, being a card-carrying three-year old.
Happy birthday to C (yesterday)! After weeks of being “so excited to turn three” he can finally hold up that next finger. Must be nice to count your age on one hand, and not six 🙂
To celebrate, we had a fun party at Squire’s Castle, which happened to coincide nicely with his desire for dragons and princesses at his party. No clue where he came up with that idea, but it worked out. The weather was perfect, the cake was yummy, and he got to play all afternoon long, which is all you can ask for when you’re three.
They grow up so fast.
Our little prince.Getting ready to slay the awesome dragon pinata that his aunt made.
Just about a week ago, one of the girls laid the first egg – they’re finally starting to earn their keep (at least one of them)! Once they all get into the swing of things, we should be getting somewhere between 2 and 4 dozen a week. Not bad from a handful of oversize sparrows (really, I do value them more than that :)).
To coincide with this momentous occasion came another that can only be attributed to God’s humor. I took C in on Monday for an egg challenge as part of his allergy testing, and after it was all said and done, the doctor gave him the green light to eat eggs! Needless to say, he’s more or less lived on egg sandwiches for breakfast since then. The girls need to pick up the pace, because he has three egg-free years to make up for.
First bites of a real live egg.
If this worked for dairy, I’d go out and get a cow (or a goat… what do you say, dear?).
Yep, it’s about that time again: she doesn’t have teeth yet, but that’s not going to stop her from downing pureed carrots and sweet potatoes. E has been reaching for our dinners for a while now, so she was certainly ready to be eating real food. It’s always fun to watch the first couple bites though.
“Let’s do this.”Ready to go.Not smiling anymore… Though for unseasoned pulverized brown rice, I probably wouldn’t either. Can’t take it anymore.
